Sports Trading Cards
There are now many types of sports trading cards. Way back in the beginning, sports trading cards consisted only of baseball cards. Then sports trading cards expanded to include American football sports trading cards, then soccer sports trading cards, basketball sports trading cards, and every other sort of sports tradic cards some sports junkie or businessman could come up with. I don't believe any sports trading cards have been as universally popular as the baseball sports trading cards have been and still are. Baseball sports trading cards have been popular for many years now. Some people concentrate on collecting old baseball sports trading cards. Some people collect the new baseball sports trading cards. Some people collect baseball sports trading cards for the love of the sport and some people collect baseball sports trading cards for the money that can be involved in sports trading cards. Some baseball sports trading cards fall into the category of sports memorabilia. The rookie year card, in good condition, of a baseball player who went on to become a superstar can be a very valuable sports trading card if not many of them still exist, which is usually the case because back in the day, kids would collect baseball sports trading cards and actually trade them back and forth. But they didn't have any idea which player would go on to be considered a superstar, twenty or thirty years later so those rookie season cards just didn't get kept or preserved. Now particular sports trading cards are worth tens of thousands of dollars to sports trading card collectors. I guess if we had had any idea of the potential value of sports memorabilia when we were kids, we wouldn't have clothes pinned them to our bicycle so they rubbed against the spokes to make that cool motor sound we all liked so much! Considering the probable value of those cards today as sports memorabilia, I guess it was a pretty costly ride...but costly ride or not, we loved our baseball sports trading cards and wouldn't have gone out of our bedrooms without a wad of them in our pockets. Baseball sports trading cards were for collecting and for trading. What kid didn't spend hours going through their friends' baseball sports trading card collections looking for possible trades and all the while saying, "got em, need em, got em, need em. Baseball sports trading cards gave us something to do no matter where we were or what the weather.
